In the war of Tarain, Sultan Shahab Ud Din Ghauri defeated by Prithvi Raj Chohan. Shahabuddin went back with a broken heart. He came back next year with better preparation. In the battlefield of Tarain, Shahabuddin faced Prithvi Raj and his allies again. This time, Shahabuddin was victorious, and Prithvi Raj killed in the war. His troops fled from the battlefield.
Shahabuddin has no boy children but has scores of slaves. One of his slaves, Qutubuddin Aibak, was an able military commander and administrator. Shahabuddin Ghori appointed Aibak as the governor in India. It was the time to start the Muslims rule in the Indian subcontinent.
