Jigar Muradabadi is the author of Kuliyaat e Jigar. Jigar Muradabadi was a great poet of Urdu in the 20th century. He was an Indian national. Jigar lived in India after the creation of Pakistan. Jigar Muradabadi (original name was Ali Sikandar) spent most of his life in Gonda. In the city of Gonda, he has a friendship with Asghar Gondvi. Asghar was also an eminent poet of Urdu. He patronaged the Jigar. This relation later turned into a family relationship. Asghar played a significant role in the emergence of Jigar Muradabadi. Both of the poets compiled each book in the Urdu language. The book Kuliyaat e Jigar Muradabadi contained the whole poetical work by Jigar Muradabadi.
Jigar Muradabadi has a place in Urdu poetry after Iqbal and Ghalib. He considers a poet of the entire people. Although he has no formal education, he awarded an honorary degree of D.litt by Ali Garh University. It was the second time in the history of Ali Garh University to award an honorary degree after Allama Iqbal.
