Jigar Muradabadi has a place in Urdu poetry after Iqbal and Ghalib. He considers a poet of the entire people. Although he has no formal education, he awarded an honorary degree of D.litt by Ali Garh University. It was the second time in the history of Ali Garh University to award an honorary degree after Allama Iqbal.
